We are always available for questions or concerns. We welcome you with open arms and pray for much love, peace and enjoyment at The Box Hop.
To note: the driveway is a long gravel driveway that has a few steep spots and turns. The parking area is situated about 150 feet from the house with a walking path to the front door.
To note: during the winter months, the cabin may be difficult to access due to weather on the driveway. It will be plowed, and maintained after each winter storm, but during those months an all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.

Our stay at the OG Box Hop was so amazing! From the spa like bath tub, to the 2nd floor deck used for sunbathing to the wonderful and clean hot tub - we could not have been more pleased! I seriously felt that I was truly ‘away from it all!’ The setting was serene! I just can’t say enough about this place! It’s so beautiful - inside and out! Will definitely be back!
Beautiful and quiet
We loved being in the OG Box Hop. We loved experiencing the masterful thought put into this place in the tall pines. Extraordinary!
The OG Box Hop
We had our awesome girls weekend and 6 of us were available to attend. This was a beautiful home. Perfectly tucked into the woods and aesthetically pleasing . Even though the other homes are near by, you couldn’t see or hear the others! The beds were comfy.
We did have issues with the fireplace and hot tub. We weren’t able to use the fireplace indoors as it wouldn’t stay lit, and the hot tub was 103 degrees when we entered and slowly decrease while we sat in it. We weren’t able to use it more than an hour, which was a bummer, but overall our experience was wonderful.
Loved our stay at the OG!
We went for a weekend in January to the OG and had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The house is situated amongst beautiful woods which made for a very peaceful, tranquil experience. Sitting in the hot tub, surrounded by the snow and trees was just amazing. One thing to note- if it is below freezing, the steps and the deck get super slick around the hot tub. We went out and bought some salt to put down on the steps for our second day so that we could safely access it.
The beds in the house are very comfortable and the upstairs bedroom views are amazing. We really appreciated having an air mattress available as well. The cute orange Smeg fridge fits more than you would think. Loved the French press coffee that was left for guests. Such a nice touch! We were very glad to have all the restaurant recommendations. We picked up takeout both nights we were there and had dinner overlooking the beautiful pine trees.
Things to note- when they say you need 4WD in the winter, they aren't kidding. We made it up in our minivan but had we been there during a fresh snow, it would have been a challenge. The house gets VERY cold at night in the winter. We had the temperature set at 69 but I think all the windows in the place combined with the super cold January temperatures made that a challenge. We picked up a few small space heaters from Walmart for our second night which helped. The fireplace does put out a lot of heat (and is beautiful) which helps for during the day but since it's gas, we didn't want to leave it running while we were sleeping. The staircase leading to the upstairs is very steep. Anyone with mobility issues or older folks may have a hard time getting up and down it. A gate at the entry to the property might be a good idea in the future. Some random couple pulled up to the house while were there (and it's a ways up from the road) and came up to the door trying to sell us meat and seafood and started asking some questions about the house. It just felt a little off and made me a nervous.
We had a great stay overall though and thought it was an incredible, unique experience. We loved the fire table outside on the deck, the hot tub, and being amongst those beautiful trees the best.
Gorgeous Getaway Space
My family and I loved our stay. We thought the space was lovely and comfortable for us all. It was nearby to groceries, hiking, and anything you might want. We felt privileged to get a chance to stay here! We loved the inclusions of mini beverages and a washer and dryer to use. I appreciated the advanced guides and communications we received. My only suggestions about what could be better would be to add more outdoor lighting by the grill (when we had dinner around 7-8pm it was hard to see) and to maybe maintain the cleaning of flooring/under rugs or beds better. I don't want to be picky, but I think we noticed more about the floors having a 13 month old who finds any spare wrapping or dust bunny.
Not just a place to stay, but an experience!
WOW! This place is truly incredible and unlike any place we have stayed. The place is so beautifully an intentionally done. It made for the perfect trip with some of our closest friends. It was spotless, full of amenities beyond just the basics, the communication between us and the host was perfect and it is in a beautiful location! We had the opportunity to film our stay for our youtube channel "Journey More" so if you want a more in-depth look you can see it there! We would highly highly recommend to anyone and everyone!!!
Highly Recommend this Unique Oasis
We had SUCH a wonderful time. The house is so unique and peaceful. It provided the perfect little getaway for our family. Thanks so much for a great stay!
A Unique Stay
Aside from a few minor hiccups with our experience and stay, this place was definitely a unique gem. My husband and I enjoyed our time at The Box Hop OG, and would love to stay again in the future with some friends or family. Everything is so modern and unique. The kitchen has everything you need which is nice. Ohio may not seem like a top vacation destination, but the hiking in the area is amazing. We would definitely recommend.
Box Hop Review
Unfortunately the place was not clean upon arrival, but a cleaner showed up within an hour. Overall a good experience.
What a fantastic stay at the Box Hop! Mini getaway with my family for my fiancé’s Birthday. It is a beautiful place, immaculately clean and a brilliant location. Emily and Seth were great at communicating with us and checked if we were okay during our stay. Loved the decor and the extra touches like the outdoor fireplace, the gas grill, and the hot tub just made the experience that much better. Also, I can’t forget to mention the most comfortable swing outback where my little one dozed off in my arms. Overall just a peaceful and relaxing experience... I highly recommend this cozy shipping container cabin tucked back in the woods to anyone! See you April 2022 💙
